Business Development Manager

Sewall is looking for a candidate that can build trusted partner/advisor relationships with municipal clients in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Primary responsibility will be selling the full suite of Sewall’s products and services. This person will work with marketing in the preparation of proposals, qualification documents, and other collateral marketing materials. The successful candidate will coordinate activities with other market sector business development managers, as well as work directly with operations leaders and project managers in pursuit of new opportunities.

We are looking for a person with demonstrated success as a business developmental professional, primarily in the local government sector focused on remote sensing services. This individual should possess strong business acumen and be dedicated to client service and oriented to results. State and Federal experience is a plus. During year one, this candidate will:

  • Reintroduce the Sewall brand and catalog of services;
  • Become familiar with Sewall’s other product and service segments;
  • Analyze and qualify market, sector(s), and potential clients; and
  • Represent the client during project execution, and develop, maintain, and deepen client relationships after the sale and during project delivery.
Success will be demonstrated through self-directed initiative in becoming knowledgeable about Sewall’s products, services, methods, and procedures, and through full compliance with CRM utilization requirements. An aggressive appointment and travel schedule to visit as many potential clients as possible within the defined geography is expected. The successful candidate will close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations. Success will also be demonstrated by developing, maintaining, and deepening client relationships after the sale and during project delivery.

Desired Skills & Experience

The successful candidate can demonstrate a history of building positive relationships internally and externally, working cooperatively with diverse teams at all levels of the organization. This individual will have excellent written and communication skills, proven ability to develop and maintain clients in the government market segment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well under deadline pressures. Ability to work in a highly independent remote environment, yet part of an overall business development team, is essential for this position. Knowledge of the local markets is critical. Aerial imaging acquisition (digital aerial photography, LiDAR and obliques), photogrammetry, and planimetric experience is strongly desired.

Physical Requirements

The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation. Extensive travel is required.
