Sewall and Forisk introduce MillVantage for assessing wood markets

James W. Sewall Company and Forisk Consulting, LLC, are pleased to announce the release of MillVantageTM, an online geodatabase of current information on mills and wood-consuming bio-energy facilities. Designed to meet the needs of forest resource managers, timberland investors, and forest industry and bio-energy investors, MillVantage provides geospatial data, mapping and applications for use in locating wood products facilities and assessing wood markets in specific geographic areas of interest.

MillVantage is available both as an online subscription service, hosted on Sewall's GeoPowerTM platform, and as a fully configurable product for use with existing GIS software. Subscription service users can access data quickly and efficiently over the Web, customize queries and maps, and download map (shapefile) and database (CSV) files for reporting, using only a browser and Internet connection. Map coverage now includes 12 states in the southeastern US. To access a demo site, visit https://geopower.jws.com/milldb

Our team offers leading-edge, user-friendly software applications and a commitment to deliver accurate, comprehensive, and timely information to our customers."

Dr. Brooks Mendell, Forisk's President, says, "The opportunity to collaborate with Sewall on MillVantage solves two client problems.  One, it provides best-available market intelligence on the status and location of wood-using mills while, two, delivering this information in an easy-to-use spatial tool that clients can customize for investment and operating decisions."
